Distribution Volunteer

Client Intake Volunteer

Join us for Mobile Distribution and play a vital role in ensuring that fresh food and essential groceries reach families and individuals throughout our community.

During this event, volunteers help sort, organize, and distribute food from our warehouse to clients. You’ll assist with setting up distribution stations, managing inventory flow, and handing out groceries in a welcoming, efficient manner.

This hands-on, team-oriented experience is perfect for anyone who enjoys staying active, working alongside others, and making a direct impact. Whether you’re organizing products, restocking supplies, or greeting clients with a friendly smile, your efforts help ensure everyone receives the support they need.

Help us welcome and support our neighbors as they access essential food and resources! During the Client Intake event, volunteers greet incoming guests, collect basic information, and guide them through the intake process with care and respect. Intake coordinators answer questions, explain available services, and ensure that everyone is directed smoothly to the right distribution area. This event is all about hospitality and organization. Volunteers play a vital role in setting a positive tone for each guest’s visit, making sure everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Your efforts help us maintain accurate records and provide efficient, dignified service to those in need.

• Wear closed-toe, non-slip shoes—no sandals or open-toed footwear.
• Dress appropriately for the weather and bring water if needed, as the event is held outdoors.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before handling any food items, and use hand sanitizer regularly.
• Wear gloves when handling produce or groceries, and change gloves as needed.
• Lift carefully: Use your legs, not your back, and ask for help with heavy or bulky items.
• Keep walkways and distribution areas clear of boxes and obstacles to prevent trips and falls.
• Stay aware of your surroundings—watch for vehicles, especially during setup and cleanup.
• Treat all guests and volunteers with kindness and patience, even during busy moments.
• Protect guest privacy: Do not discuss personal information or needs in public areas.
• Know where first aid kits and emergency contacts are located. If an accident or injury occurs, inform a supervisor immediately.
• If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and let your supervisor know.

Cancellation Policy

To help us serve our community efficiently, please remember our 24-hour cancellation policy for all volunteer shifts:
• If you need to cancel a scheduled shift, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
• You can cancel by logging into your volunteer account, emailing, or calling our office.
• Last-minute cancellations make it challenging to fill your spot and can impact our ability to serve those in need.
• If you have an emergency or sudden illness, let us know as soon as possible—your health comes first.
